Produce of the Riverland South Australia

Any time of year you visit The Riverland, you are in for a real treat when it comes to its locally grown produce.

It is a primary producer for the country of a large variety of fruit, grain & vegetables as well as farming sheep & cattle. It’s sandy soil & warm climate are ideal for citrus crops & stone fruits. A large variety of citrus is grown for local & overseas export markets.

Orchards include oranges, mandarins, grapefruit, & lemons. Stone fruits include apricots, nectarines, avocados and peaches. The district is also a large primary producer of tomatoes, almonds, olives, persimmons, walnuts & pistachios as well as dried fruits.

Vegetable farm crops include potatoes onions pumpkins & carrots.

The region is also a large wine growing region, which has a number of its own wineries as well as supplying  grapes to wine producers in the Barossa Valley, The Clare Valley, Mclaren Vale, langhorne Creek & Griffith.

Such is the fabulous quality of the Regions fruit & vegetables it is exported all over the world.
