Waikerie Wetlands, South Australia

Take a walk along the scenic Hart lagoon, home to Australian native birds & the home of lots of water birds. If you are an early riser or after a beautiful sunset, you may also be lucky enough to come across Kangaroos. Access to this beautiful wetlands is opposite the Waikerie Caravan Park on Peake Terrace._DSC0506

For those looking for a longer walk, instead of retracing your steps you can complete a loop around the lagoon, this will also take you past the River Murray to your left. See map

If you follow Peake Tce out of town past the football oval on your right, for 5 km (the road changes name to Ramco Rd) see map to the settlement of Ramco you can access Ramco Lagoon either by turning right past the Primary school or from the road approx  3/4 km further on.

I have a passion for nature & love the challenge of capturing images of birds. For more images of birds found in & and around the Wetlands of the River Murray view my coffee table book.
